The General Need-To-Knows
The idea for the game has been a long fostered and very exciting concept, but because all of the plans are so loose and time so demanding the project was put into stall. Luckily I still have many of the original documents and ideas that were created for the game, and not to mention the birth of more ideas. So because there are still a lot of pieces scattered around for our 'little' puzzle, I decided it was best to go ahead and post this here topic. Information for everything I've got should give you a good enough idea of the general plan.

Okoi’O: New Era
Overview: Should there be a trilogy? That question needs answering, feel free to edit this document as you feel the inclination to add more, this is not just for me to work on, remember that!
If there IS a trio, here are some ideas, from first to last.
-Okoi’O: New Era
-Okoi’O: Dark Wars
-Okoi’O: Land of Lies (Haha, just noticed all the titles descend like stairs)
~What is even needed for a good game? Feel free to edit this list also! We might be checking things off this list as we finish with them.
-A good plot/storyline
-Well developed characters!
-Good 3D graphics
-Inspiration Music, people must be willing to contribute their music for the game.
-Sound effects of course!
-Suspension, drama, irony
-Freedom of Choice: Allow the player to make decisions and become attached to the world they’re playing in.
-Challenging, yet fun levels. (Not too hard though or people will get frustrated and quit)
----End of Random rant of questions----
Sequence 1: Rise
-Mission 1: A Day of Night
-User plays as the father of the pup soon to be born. The fathers name is Noerok. User must move Noerok towards the birthing den of his mate.
-The pup is born (We won’t see those kinds of scenes, shut your traps) and the user must move the pups legs or something along those lines to show that he/she has ‘received his spirit’.
-User is then allowed to name the pup and play as the pup. They will be booted into the character creator to choose all of the specifications they want on their wolf.
Cutscene!! =D
-Mission 2: Hunt
-User, their wolf being half grown now, must follow their mother, Iyeia, into the woods to learn their much needed hunting skills.
~Optional Objectives~
-Follow your mothers movements as closely as possible, move away from her attacks ⅗ times.
-Iyeia then tells her pup it is time for him/her to go off into the woods and try to hunt something down. She requests 3 rabbits.
~Optional Objectives~
-Remain unseen in the overgrowth and downwind when you find your prey
-Catch at least ⅔ rabbits to complete the mission.
-User must now bring back their catch to Iyeia who is waiting in a small clearing, drop the rabbit(s) in front of her and speak with her.
Cutscene!
-Mission 3: Chase
-User must go back towards the pack after speaking with his/her mother. Noerok will be standing towards a path leading to the woods, go and speak with him.
-Noerok will suggest taking a run through the woods. User will then continue to follow as Noerok explains he wants to show you something.
~Optional Objectives~
-Try to avoid tripping over roots.
-Only allow Noerok out of your vision for about five seconds.
{ Notes/Ideas (v THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE v}-TYPE IDEAS UNDER HERE!
-Divine Interaction/Intervention: The god of the player”s alignment will actually interact with them and work to help them fulfill their goals.
-Reviving dead players with comments like “Your part isn’t done yet! Finish what you’ve started!”
-The Three Planes/Realms: As discussed in earlier times, The Three Realms were thrown into the air. Perhaps reintroducing this idea can have a good effect on the game?
-The Living Plane/Realm: Where the solid forms of the animals of Okoi’O are.
-The Dead Plane/Realm: Where the non-solid forms of animals of Okoi’O go once they die. They wander alone with no soul or mind, (That’s what most thing) but some have ‘unfinished business’.
-The Spirit Plane/Realm: Spirits are said to exist in the Living and in their own realm. They are the souls of the living and must be able to move through both realms. Spirits are also thought to be larger than the actual living being is.
I think we should progress through time differently in here. Like pup stage for a few levels, teenage stage for a little while, adult stage for a long time, etc (if we want to do an elder stage)
-Ideas In the Air-
-Mating? We’ve got to figure that out, because that is a feature I would want, I like making my own pack!
-The wolf can meet two or three wolves of the OTHER gender throughout the game and develop a relationship with them throughout the game and at the end they player will have to either pick a wolf, or continue to be alone, developing on the relationship with the wolves.
-Magic? There are gods... and the player IS aiding a god... just put two and two together.
-Sure, why not? It’s a good addition.
-Full Scale Battles? I’m not sure if that would be good to add... I’m just throwing out a few more things that were in the air.
-Different animals? This idea was in the beginning of the developing process during the summer but after the game was put on delay, I admittingly forgot. Anyways there were a few ideas in that...
-Canines: Wolves, Foxes, Jackals, Coyotes,
-Felines: Cats of small and large families
-Aves: Owls, Birds of Prey, Ravens,
-Flying Reptiles: Wyverns, Western Dragons, Eastern Dragons,
-Flying Mythical Creatures: Griffins, Skyrins,
-Hybrids: Any mixture between similar species (So don’t try to get away with a Tiger Dragon)
Prey
-Rabbits: Weak, but fast. Able to find spots to hide in quickly. Most abundant.
-Deer: Weak, but nimble and fast. Able to avoid attacks and quickly escape.
-Moose: Very Strong, but slower moving, able to inflict damage.
-Squirrel: Weak and fast. Easily escapes to the tree tops.
-Fish: Fast swimmers and easily escapes under banks or rocks, slippery.
-Mice: Very weak, though running speed might be more of a medium.
-Elk: Very Strong, almost invincible to attack, inflicts horrendous damage.
Predators
-Bears: Very Strong, aggressive and easily inflicts damage.
-Other Wolves: Depends on status.
-Rouge Cats: Depends on status.
-Wolverines: Strong, very aggressive and attacks on sight.
-Birds of Prey: Depends on size, some may be aggressive.
Creatures list:
-A complete list of all the creatures that the player will ever encounter in the game. As the player comes across the animals, the get a brief description of the animal and its strengths and weaknesses, making future encounters easier for the player. There will be multiple lists, on for prey, one for predators and other for other creatures.
-Position in the pack and powers associated with it?
-Alpha -leads the pack, highest up obviously, makes all decisions, eats first
-Beta -2nd in command, rules when the alphas are away (mating {Really?!} or otherwise)
-Hunter- gets the food
-Healer- takes care of injured wolves
-Just an everyday pack wolf-doesn't need explaining.
-Battle Moves? (This section is going to get very complicated, just btw)(Make note: No1hitkills unless unseen by the other creature)
-Shift for Sprint
-Control for Crouch
-Walk is W or UP KEY
-Trot is W twice or UP KEY twice
-Attack Stance(Overall): To get into attack press ENTER
-Bite(neck, shoulder, leg, throat): To attack you must be in Attack Stance, to bite press W+ENTER or UP+ENTER. Wherever your character is looking is where he/she will bite
-Claw(side, face): Attacking with claws will result in a side to side motion, avoiding the enemies attack and retaliating with your own. To claw press A+ENTER or LEFT ARROW+ENTER.
-Ram(run to the enemy and hit them with your body): Attacking with Ram will cause the foe to be pushed back for some distance but will not cause any immediate status effects.. To Ram press S+ENTER or DOWN ARROW+ENTER
-Tackle(Run into the enemy and knock them down): A tackle attack might result in backlash, the speed you must get to succeed in this attack is a sprint. To perform a tackled press SHIFT+ENTER
-Special Attack(Side-Swiping, Magic Attacks?, Melee Attacks): To perform a Side-Swipe the users character must make a CLAW attack, during the claw attack the user can press enter again to go in for a combo attack or a ‘Side-Swipe’.
-A Melee attack is a type of special attack where a user can perform a Bite and Tackle attack. A melee attack will result with the enemy wolf stunned and confused. To perform a melee attack the user must go through like you usually would to Tackle. Mid-way through the TACKLE attack the user will press enter one more time to go into the Melee attack.
-Magic Attacks? Still questionable.
Locations
-Forest: Deciduous and Coniferous, Temperate RainForest, btw NC weather in summer.
-Tundra
-Beach
-Rivers, Streams, Lakes, Ponds
-Shrub, or Desert
-Grassland
-Taiga
-Game Keys
- W,D,S,A or WASD. (W, move forward. A, move left. S, move back. D, move right.) -Arrow Keys, Up for forward, Left for left, Down for back/down, and Right for Right.
-Multiplayer
-Adding multiplayer to the game could actually be a demo? Users can interact with each freely. They could do quests and stuff. I think more needs to be added to this.
-Chat Comm. for Multiplayer
-Add a chat box for users to be able to freely communicate with each other. Moderators can announce things, warn users.
-Should the players be able to communicate with a headset with a microphone to make fighting easier?
-Would the chat box have blocked words?
-Chat box be able to be closed and opened freely. Players should also be able to scroll up easily.
-Time limit between posts? 3 second limit?
-Posts be from 300-370 words long, more than that will result in nothing happening. They must press enter to put of their post in order to begin the next one.
-Missions in multiplayer can consist of fighting a very powerful enemy, such as a dragon or something.
